A market researcher came to us with data from a survey. To give him the information he wanted, we used a multitude of statistical techniques: the binomial test, the median test, the t-test approximation to the binomial, correlation, linear regression, and ANOVA (analysis of variance). For the future, we advised the client to come to us at the design phase of the survey, if at all possible. Statistical advice early on simplifies the analysis and ensures that the information you get answers the questions you asked.
